BioOranjedoom comes from a subversion of the brand name Oranjeboom, a cheap Dutch lager, once brewed in Amsterdam, now brewed in somewhere unglamorous in England. Possibly Kent.
It doesn't seem to be available anywhere in the UK apart from Cardiff, where the slipshod student drinkers are happy to quaff it by the bucketload, primarily because it's £5 ($8.70) for eight cans.
If you're American, think of it as the British six-toed cousin of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
It got me through three years of university; through varying degrees of crisis without crippling my wallet, and I'm not about to throw those years of selfless generosity back in the face of this noble ale by switching brands now.
Also, it appeals to my pride in being hopeless Welsh white-trash.
Oranjedoom is a place where the detritus of my daily life collects, like the space between the fridge and the kitchen units.
Its outlook is fairly despondent most of the time, which reflects the cynical outlook of the site's creator.
I'm a HST-obsessed (but hopefully not imitating - although it's only a matter of time before I buy a gun) award-winning trainee journalist from south Wales. I like lots of things and dislike even more, but that's not for here.
